Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made it clear that midfielder Thomas Partey is a crucial player for the team and will not be sold, despite interest from Europe and Saudi Arabia. Arteta's comments come amid speculation that Arsenal are considering the possibility of selling the midfielder after signing Declan Rice, who joined the Gunners some  weeks ago.

Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in October 2020 and made an immediate impact at the club. The Ghanaian international is known for his physicality, defensive skills, and ability to control the midfield. He played a key role in helping Arsenal win the FA Cup in his debut season and has been tipped to have a big future at the club.

Despite Partey's importance to the team, there have been rumors of interest from several clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia. However, Arteta has made it clear that Arsenal have no intention of letting him go.

"Thomas is a super important player for us," said Arteta. "He's got a lot of quality and he's someone we count on. He had a difficult first season with injuries, but he's working hard and we're confident he'll have a big impact this season."

Arteta's comments comes as a relief to Arsenal fans who have grown accustomed to seeing their star players leave for greener pastures. In recent years, the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, and Aaron Ramsey have all left the club for bigger contracts and better opportunities.

However, Arteta's stance on Partey suggests that Arsenal are keen to build a team around the Ghanaian midfielder. With the likes of Granit Xhaka, Bukayo Saka, and Emile Smith Rowe also in the squad, Arsenal have a solid midfield that can compete with the best teams in the Premier League.

The arrival of Declan Rice would undoubtedly add more quality to the Arsenal midfield. The West Ham midfielder is one of the most highly-rated young players in the Premier League.

However, the  signing of Rice would not necessarily mean that Partey would be sold. Arteta could opt to play the two midfielders together, with Rice playing deeper and Partey playing a more attacking role. Alternatively, he could rotate the two players depending on the opposition and the tactical setup.

In any case, Arteta's comments suggest that Partey is here to stay and that Arsenal are committed to building a team that can challenge for major honors in the coming years. With a solid midfield, a young and talented attack, and a defense that is improving, Arsenal fans have reason to be optimistic about the future of their club.
